YouTube Thumbnail Designer for Riyadh Creators and Brands
I am Samy, and I run ClickTheory from Dubai. We are one hour ahead of Riyadh, which means a brief you send at 9am lands with a designer already mid morning. I design custom thumbnails for Riyadh channels: finance, gaming, business Arabic, religious education, food, and the enormous Riyadh Season content wave. One pack is $250 for 8 thumbnails, unlimited revisions, dedicated designer, title consultation included.
Do you actually work with Riyadh creators, or do you just have a page about it?
We work with Riyadh creators, and we do it entirely remotely from Dubai. There is no ClickTheory office in Riyadh, and I am not going to pretend otherwise. What we have is a one hour timezone gap and a very similar working week, which is worth more to a busy channel than a meeting room nobody uses.
Here is the practical shape of it. Riyadh runs on GMT+3, we run on GMT+4. Your Sunday morning is our Sunday morning. Your Thursday afternoon wrap up is our Thursday afternoon wrap up. When a Riyadh creator uploads on a Saudi weekend rhythm rather than a Western one, we are already on that calendar, because the whole Gulf is. Agencies in London or Los Angeles are eight to eleven hours out, which turns a two message clarification into a two day delay. That gap is the single most common reason a thumbnail misses an upload window.
Everything runs async. You send the video file or a rough cut, the hook, the title you are leaning toward, and any face frames you like. Turnaround is 48 to 72 hours per thumbnail. No calls required, though I will happily take one. You can see the range of work on our work and the full breakdown on pricing and services.
What kinds of Riyadh channels do you design for?
Riyadh is not a generic content city, and the channels coming out of it are unusually skewed toward money, gaming, and institution building. That changes what a thumbnail has to do.
Finance and business Arabic is the heaviest category we see from Riyadh. Tadawul commentary, real estate breakdowns, salary and savings content, small business advice aimed at a young workforce moving into private sector jobs. These channels live or die on credibility. A thumbnail that looks like a crypto pump graphic kills trust instantly with this audience, so we design them closer to a broadcast news lower third than a shock face. If that is your lane, the thinking on thumbnail design for finance creators applies almost line for line.
Gaming is the other giant. Saudi Arabia has poured serious money into gaming as an industry, and Riyadh has a dense esports and streaming scene to match. Gaming thumbnails need saturation, motion implied in a still frame, and a face that reads at 120 pixels wide.
Then there is the Riyadh Season and entertainment content wave, event recaps, restaurant and venue reviews, plus a steady stream of religious education channels, which need restraint and dignity rather than hype. We also see product and gadget review channels, where the frame logic overlaps heavily with thumbnail design for review channels.

How does Arabic text change thumbnail design?
Arabic changes almost every layout decision, and most cheap thumbnail sellers get it wrong in the same three ways.
First, direction. Arabic reads right to left, so the natural eye entry point flips. If you drop Arabic text into a layout designed for English, the reader's eye starts on the side where you parked the subject's face and ends on empty space. We build Arabic layouts right to left from the first sketch rather than mirroring an English one.
Second, typography. Arabic script has connected letterforms, generous ascenders and descenders, and diacritics that get chopped when someone force fits a Latin text box. A lot of free Arabic fonts also look institutional or dated in a way that quietly ages a channel. We pick weights that stay legible when YouTube shrinks the thumbnail to a phone sized tile, which is where the majority of Riyadh viewing happens.
Third, word count. Arabic often says the same thing in fewer characters but wider glyphs. Three Arabic words is usually the ceiling on a thumbnail, sometimes two.
We also do a lot of bilingual work, where the thumbnail carries Arabic and the title carries English or the reverse, because plenty of Riyadh channels are chasing both a local audience and a wider Gulf or diaspora audience. That choice belongs in the title conversation, not the design conversation, which is why title consultation is included in the pack. If you want to think it through first, book a youtube thumbnail consultation.
What actually moves click through rate in a crowded feed
Click through rate is a comparison, not a score. Your thumbnail never gets judged alone. It gets judged against the four or five tiles sitting around it in a suggested feed or on a home screen, and against the memory of every other video that viewer has already watched from your niche.
So the first job is contrast with your neighbours, not beauty. If every finance channel in Riyadh is using dark blue, a warm cream background wins on difference alone. The second job is one idea, not three. Most thumbnails we are asked to fix are failing because the creator tried to fit the whole video in. A viewer gives the tile somewhere around half a second. Half a second buys you one subject, one piece of text, and one emotional read.
The third job is the pairing. Title and thumbnail have to say two halves of a sentence, never the same half twice. If the title carries the number, the thumbnail carries the face and the stakes. If the thumbnail carries the number, the title carries the tension.
The fourth job is series logic. A channel that changes visual language every upload never builds recognition, so returning viewers have to re read you each time. We design for consistency across a pack of eight so your library starts to look like a library. More on the mechanics in increase youtube ctr.
What the $250 pack includes and where the money goes
One pack, one price. $250 for 8 custom thumbnails, which works out to about $31 each. One thumbnail per video, unlimited revisions, a dedicated designer who stays with your channel rather than a queue of rotating freelancers, and title consultation included.
Add ons are deliberately small and optional. An A/B variant is $15, so you can run two thumbnails against each other on the same video and learn something instead of guessing. A title pack is $25. Rush is $20 if you need a thumbnail inside the normal 48 to 72 hour window.
Where does $31 per thumbnail actually sit in the market? A $5 template gig on a marketplace is faster and cheaper and it is genuinely fine for a channel that just needs something on the tile this week. What you are buying at $5 is a layout that hundreds of other channels also bought. A solo freelance designer with a real portfolio usually starts around $60 or more per thumbnail, and if you have found a good one, keep them. An unlimited design subscription runs $500 or more per month, which makes sense if you are shipping across formats every day, and makes no sense if you upload four times a month.
Every thumbnail is built custom for the specific video. We do not use templates. We test styles on our own YouTube channels first, so what you get has already been through a feed.

The honest tradeoffs of hiring a remote studio
There are real reasons a Riyadh creator might not want us, and I would rather say them here than have you find out after a payment.
We are not on the ground. If your content depends on someone attending a Riyadh Season event with a camera, or shooting stills at your Olaya office, that is a local job and we are the wrong call. We work from what you send us.
We are not the cheapest. $31 per thumbnail is roughly six times a template gig. If your channel is under a few thousand subscribers and you are still finding your format, spending $250 before you know what your content even is can be the wrong order of operations.
Native Arabic copywriting is your side of the table. We design Arabic layouts properly and we will consult on titles, but the final Arabic phrasing, the register, the dialect choices between Khaliji and Modern Standard, those land better coming from you or your writer than from us.
We never show client names. Our privacy policy means your channel stays out of our marketing, which is great for you and slightly annoying when you ask for references. We describe results by niche and subscriber band only, and I will not invent a case study to close a sale.
What you get in exchange is a designer who knows your channel, unlimited revisions until it is right, and a one hour timezone gap. Take a look at about the studio if you want the fuller picture.
How Riyadh compares to the Western creator markets we serve
It is useful to know where your competition for attention actually sits. A Riyadh finance channel is mostly competing with other Arabic finance channels, and the visual bar there is lower than in the United States, which is an opportunity that will not stay open forever.
Compare that to the markets we work in elsewhere. A Chicago business channel is designing into a saturated English language feed where thumbnail conventions have been stress tested for a decade and every trick is already in use. A Miami channel is working a bilingual Spanish and English market with a heavy lifestyle skew, closer to Riyadh in bilingualism but very different in tone.
Riyadh sits somewhere distinct. The audience is young, phone first, and increasingly used to high production Saudi entertainment output, which has raised expectations fast. A thumbnail that would have passed in 2022 now reads as amateur to a Riyadh viewer. Meanwhile a lot of channels are still using stock template layouts, so the gap between an average tile and a good one is unusually wide and unusually easy to win.
If you also run a video podcast, my sister service edits podcasts from $199 per episode and clips at $25 at Pixel Samy.
What to send us before we start on your Riyadh channel
- Your channel link plus the three uploads you think performed best and the three that flopped, so we can see the pattern rather than guess at it
- The video file or a rough cut for each thumbnail, or at minimum a timestamped list of moments worth pulling a frame from
- Five to ten clean face frames if you appear on camera, shot in decent light, because a soft frame caps how good the tile can get
- The working title for each video, in Arabic or English, and a note on which language you want carrying the headline
- Whether the audience you are chasing is Saudi only, wider Gulf, or global Arabic diaspora, because that changes register and text length
- Any brand colours, logo files, or fonts your channel already uses, plus permission to break them if they are hurting you
- Two or three competitor channels whose thumbnails you envy, and two you actively dislike, which is often the more useful list
- Your upload schedule so we can slot the 48 to 72 hour turnaround around real publish dates rather than abstract ones
- A note on whether you want an A/B variant on any of the eight, at $15 each, so we plan the alternate concept up front
Frequently asked questions
Do you have an office in Riyadh?
No. ClickTheory is based in Dubai and we work remotely with creators worldwide, Riyadh included. Everything runs async over email and file transfer. The practical benefit is the one hour timezone gap, GMT+3 to GMT+4, and a shared Gulf working week, so briefs and revisions move same day instead of overnight. If your project needs someone physically present in Riyadh, we are the wrong studio for it.
Can you design thumbnails in Arabic?
Yes, and we build Arabic layouts right to left from the start rather than mirroring an English design. That covers font weight choices that survive phone sized tiles, room for diacritics, and keeping the headline to two or three Arabic words. We will consult on the title as part of the pack. Final Arabic phrasing and dialect register are better coming from you, since you know your audience.
How much does a thumbnail pack cost?
One pack is $250 for 8 custom thumbnails, about $31 each, with one thumbnail per video. That includes unlimited revisions, a dedicated designer who stays with your channel, and title consultation. Optional add ons are an A/B variant at $15, a title pack at $25, and rush at $20. There is no monthly subscription and no minimum commitment beyond the single pack.
How fast will I get my thumbnails?
Turnaround is 48 to 72 hours per thumbnail. For a full pack of eight we work through them in sequence around your upload schedule rather than dumping all eight at once, which gives you time to react to how each one performs. If something needs to go out sooner, rush is $20 and pulls that thumbnail forward. Revisions are unlimited and typically turn around faster than the first draft.
Can you show me Riyadh clients you have worked with?
No, and that is a deliberate policy rather than a dodge. We never show client names publicly, because most creators do not want their thumbnail supplier advertising the relationship. We describe results by niche and subscriber band only. What we can show you is the design work itself in our portfolio, and I will not invent a case study or a subscriber number to make a sale look better.
Is a $250 pack worth it over a $5 template gig?
It depends on your stage. A $5 template gig is genuinely fine if you are still working out your format and just need something on the tile. What you get for $31 per thumbnail is a design built for that specific video, unlimited revisions, and a consistent visual language across eight uploads so returning viewers recognise you. Below a few thousand subscribers, spend on format first.
